Paramedic

Full-Time Job: Critical Care Paramedic, All American Ambulance (Started in 2014, as a MD EMT Only)

When did I start EMS: I first started my EMS Career in 2011 at Dentsville Volunteer EMS (Co.15) when I was just 15 years old. My Parents wanted me to volunteer in either an ambulance or a fire engine, to see first hand effects of drinking and driving. Little did they know I would see so much more than that. Back story on this is my Father was a volunteer EMT-A/Firefighter at Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Allentown Volunteer Fire Department, so it also felt right to continue the family legacy. In 2013 I joined Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad (Co. 29), where in 2014 I obtained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 2 years after i obtained my EMT/IVT. I wanted more action as Dentsville was slower, at the time, I volunteered with both stations until 2016. I left Dentisville and joined the St. Mary's County Advanced Life Support Unit (SMALS), where I have been volunteering alongside my fellow St. Mary's County Volunteers. In 2020 I obtained my National Registry Paramedic, I still volunteer to this day at both departments. In additino to NRP, I obtained my Critical Care Paramedic (CCEMT-P) in 2024, although not recognized in the 911 setting of ambulance, it is, at my full time job. Needless to say, I really like EMS.

Why do I volunteer?: I Volunteer for the Citizens of St. Mary's County, I like keeping up with my skills, and how every incident we are dispatched to is always different, 911 calls are like snowflakes no two are the same. I like the challenges of differential diagnosis and helping people

Favorite Hobby: I enjoy thrift / antique shopping with my husband. I collect die cast metal vintage coin bank trucks from the 1910s-1930s (My collection is currently 75 and counting). I enjoy fishing and being on my boat.

Anything else you'd like to add:  I have held many leadership roles with Co29, to include Sergeant (2020), 3rd Lieutenant (1/21-8/21), Assistant Engineer (2023-2024), Training officer (2025), and now 2nd Lieutenant (2026). I was once one of the problem children of the department, fun fact in 2018 I was actually suspended for 75% of the year, for late reports, but I’ve grown up and I’ve learned from my mistakes. I now QA reports, I’m the PATTAG Committee Head, and I am one of the “Key Masters” of the building.

3rd Lieutenant Elizabeth Morgan

Sergeant Cynthia Jordan
NREMT-B

When did I start EMS: 2020

Why do I volunteer?: I volunteer because, as cliché as it sounds, I like helping people and being able to, in some type of way, add some positive to a person's day. I knew when I first got in the medical field, I found my passion.  After doing my first ride along with the rescue squad, I knew I wanted to continue being a part of the EMS community.

Favorite Hobby: Reading
